Is it ethical to make rich pay more taxes?

i'm having trouble getting behind the idea of making rich people pay more taxes just because they have more.. aside from the obvious: "i'm not rich so lets tax them instead of me.

" the three reasons i hear most often are:.

1: they may have "earned" their wealth but they don't deserve it!.

My association with this organisation is coming to its end!

Hi Tim, I am not gay, Im usually disparaging to gays but gay or not, you have remarkable self control, I was living with a girl, we were both studying, we had the idea that if we both kept one foot on the ground, we would be ok, Wrong, I still ended up shagging her, what is your seceret for self control ? Your premise in my not so humble opinion ,should be based on, what type of society do we want to live in ? should the rich pay more taxes than the poor ? it really depends upon what type of society you want to live in. USA, massive disparity in wealth, no health care, insane polorised society, massive Armed forces,massive polluter, massive amount of obese peope, massive immigration, and more importantly MASSIVE DEBT,massive prison population, massive murder rates, taxes almost seem to be an irrelevence in light of the problems your country is facing, what do you think ? would it be better to have a more equitable society via the tax system, than the one you currently live in, it really depends on the society you want to live in ,do you want the statuus quo, or do you want a better society, a more equal society, taxation is an important factor in realising that ambition

I'm new here..... Studying with the Witnesses

hi- i just wanted to say that i have been checking the website out for a few weeks and have read some horror stories and some sad ones.

but i have been studying with witnessess for about six months and can't help but feel that they're completely sincere and maybe even, the true religion.

i love the watchtower and awake and to me, none of that seems crazy.

Hi PP, Im so glad you found your way here, had the internet been around 20 years ago, I would not have became a JW.As Ex JW,s we are almost universal in our disdain for the Watchtower Org, as you can see from the many posts here, however scratch under the surface , and you will find as much, if not more diversity as any place on the Web, and no bad thing too.

A few posts back Judge Dread, alluded to the fact that if you were not New here , you would be subject to more ridicule, and he is,s right, but if that happens dont be deterred from examining all possibilities, including The spirit realm. Again you have to remember that for many if not most on this site, or any other site for that matter, what you have experienced is pretty far out ! so in a sense, it would be unusual if you didnt get a ribbing would it not ?

As an ex Dub, I do believe in the spirit realm, It stems from my life before, I became a JW, 0ne very nasty experience I once relayed in a talk at the Kingdom hall, It had a couple of elders fall of there seats in shock, so while the witnesses you are " studying " with are accomidating to your accounts in the private setting of a " study ", You try spouting that stuff from the Platform and its a whole different ball game. What you believe resonates with me, No life after death and spirits attempting to con mankind to believe otherwise. However keep in mind that there are thousands of wacky religions, out there not just JW,s. Now to the meat of the matter, Jehovas witnesses ,They will feed you any crap in order to get your free labour, for as a baptised witness, thats all you are, and ever will be, a source of free labour, to a multi-international publishing Corp, based on lies, and worst of all as a women ,you would be the lowest of the low. Stay here a bit and get things resolved, We fight and sqaubble here like any big family.from one PP to another PP

Nah botchy, Believe it or not, I am impartial, Its just that I have unwitingly been part of a state coverup, have studiied Media at Uni, and have firsthand experience of 2 major coverups, and unlike everyone here I can and will authenticate, yes I understand how the media functions,and that has made me skeptical.

De-bunked my ass, This conversation should not be based on Youtube clips, although some of them are really informative, and require investigation and evaluation. More importantly, when we have masses of information at our disposal, how do we react to news that comes from sources that many assume to be reputable, such as the BBC , CNN ? or other Online or Radio Sites that share an equally high status in public esteem as being producers of high quality news ?

In Watchtower speak," We do well to be on our gaurd " Why ? Well as Noam Chomsky pointed out in the 70,s and 80,s , The Russians and all the other communist states, KNEW, they were being lied to by Pravda, and the state media appuratus, SO THEY used multiple news sources to help them discern the truth, YES the ignorant communists, applied there critical thinking faculties, and as a consequence, many more of them had a true picture of what was happening in the world at that time, than did here in the so called enlightened West, NOTICE ANY SIMALARITIES HERE ????
